KTM revealed their Indian market plan regarding the Duke 690 during an event namely “Freewheeling & Interactive”, in Delhi last day. There had been few rumours that the Duke 690 would hit India in 2014. Now this news will be a great depression for all Duke enthusiasts.
Along with Bajaj, KTM is doing great business in India. Their products, the Duke 200 and the Duke 390 have already become the hot sellers in the entry-level sport bike class in the country.
According to the reports presently available, the RC 200 and the RC 390 are the next KTM products to hit India. These machines will certainly challenge some big names. The RC 200 will be taking the R15, and CBR 150R, while the RC 390 will do with Ninja 300, CBR 250R, and Hyosung GT250R.
When the Duke 690 arrives in the country, it will be heading against the Ninja 650R. The Duke 690 is powered by a 690cc, Single-cylinder, 4-stroke, spark-ignition engine, liquid-cooled engine, which is capable to bring out 69bhp @ 7,500rpm of power and 70.5 Nm @ 5,500rpm of torque. It's coupled with a 6-speed, claw shifted and has a top speed of 185 kmph. It has ABS as well.
