Triumph has given rider-focused technologies to the Tiger. Explorer. There are various technologies installed in the cockpit of this motorcycle. The 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit, Dedicated Off-Road Riding Mode, Cruise control, Advanced On-Board computer and Self-cancelling LED indicators to make the Tiger Explorer a very versatile machine. Moreover, the inclusion of Heated grips, Handguards, Aluminium sump guard, Engine protection bars and Stainless radiator guard makes it very off-road friendly.

The Tiger Explorer is packed with a 1215cc Liquid-cooled, 12 valves, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder engine that has the power to produce a maximum of 139 PS (102 kW) @ 9,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 123 Nm @ 6,200 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and uses Ride by Wire and is fuel injected. The bike uses Shaft drive as its Final drive and makes use of a Stainless steel 3 into 1 header system, side mounted stainless steel silencer as its exhaust system.

The Tiger Explorer has a Tubular steel trellis frame as its backbone. It uses a Single-sided, cast aluminium alloy with shaft drive as its rear swingarm. The suspension setup of the Explorer comes with WP 48 mm upside down forks, electronically adjustable damping, 190mm travel (168 mm low seat version) at the front, while the rear suspension comes with WP monoshock, electronically adjustable semi-active damping, 193mm wheel travel (158 mm low seat version). Automatic preload adjustment at the rear. The breaking is the Explorer is done with Twin 305 mm floating discs, radially mounted monobloc Brembo calipers, 4-piston, switchable ABS at the front while the rear braking system is done with Single 282mm disc, Nissin 2-piston sliding caliper, switchable ABS.


The Tiger Explorer has a very large fuel tank of 20 Litres and this enables it to have a very good riding range. The Explorer has a very good seat height of 837-857 mm. The overall weight of the motorcycle is 253 Kg.
