Triumph, before two weeks of the Eicma motorcycle show, teased = the upcoming Tiger 800, and now the company has showcased the new Tiger variants at the Milan motor show.
The new 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 is a fully revamped version and gets many tweaks in looks as well as the mechanicals. The new Tiger 800 range consists of the XC, an off-road oriented variant and the road-based variant XR. The two variants; XC and XR will also have sub-variants with various levels of equipment and features.
For the new Tiger 800, the Triumph has gone over 200 upgrades its frame and the engine, while also taking care of the various areas of the motorcycle like technology, comfort, ergonomics and riding comfort. To make the new motorcycles advance in all conditions, the Triumph Traction Control (TTC) and ABS braking system have been incorporated.
The new 2018 models of the Tiger 800 range gets an updated full-colour TFT instrumentation, Brembo brakes up front, handlebar mounted switch cubes backlit buttons, full LED lights, six riding modes, revamped cruise control system, a very rigid and stiffer chassis and a very stylish bodywork and design. The windscreen of the motorcycle can also be adjusted in 5 different ways.
What makes the new Tiger 800 ranges outstanding is the new 800cc Liquid-cooled, 12 valves, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder engine. This triple engine churns out a maximum power of 94 bhp @ 9.250 rpm and a maximum torque of 79 Nm @ 7,850 rpm. The big triple engine is mated to a 6-speed and Triumph makes sure that the engine gives instant power delivery and torque whenever it's needed and a very rigid Tubular steel trellis frame forms the backbone of the Tiger.Triumph is also giving away heated seats heated grips, selectable seat height between 810-830 mm on the Tiger XR and 840-860 mm on the Tiger XC models
