The Tiger 800 XRx is a transcontinental adventure motorcycle from Triumph. This motorcycle is a combination of the standard equipment model Tiger XR with additional rider-focused features - 3 Riding Modes - Road, Off-Road, configurable Rider, Cruise control, Advanced On-Board computer, Adjustable screen, Centre stand, Handguards, Additional 12V Power Socket, Self-cancelling indicators and very comfortable rider and passenger seat.
The Tiger 800 XRx looks more like a promising adventure tool. Triumph has given many electronic functionalities to make the Tiger more versatile. The functionalities like LCD multi-functional instrument pack with digital speedometer, trip computer, analogue tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, service indicator, ambient temperature, three rider modes (Road/Offroad/Rider configurable) and clock decorates the cockpit and ensure that the bike is all ready to take it into the mountains.
Performance
The XRx comes with an 800cc Liquid-cooled, 12 valves, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder engine that has the capacity to produce a maximum power of 95 PS @ 9,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 78 Nm @ 7,950 rpm. The Tiger XRx uses a very efficient Multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection system for is combustion which results in a very good power delivery and torque. The engine and the exhaust put out a very good sound and the engine provides the right amount of vibrations to give the rider a sense of the throttle response kept inside the big 800cc engine.
Chassis, Suspension and Braking
The Tiger XRx uses a Tubular steel trellis frame as its backbone. Triumph has incorporated a very rigid Twin-sided, cast aluminium alloy as its rear swingarm, this helps it to be very stable at higher speeds. To make the Tiger XRx excel at mountains, valleys, rocky paths, and dangerous curves, Triumph has incorporated Showa 43mm upside down forks with 180mm travel at the front suspension. The rear suspension setup is governed by Showa monoshock with hydraulically adjustable preload with a travel of 170mm. The seat height of the motorcycle is at 810 - 830 mm. The tank capacity of the bike comes at 19 L, while the overall weight of the bike is 216 kg.
