Even though the scooter Ray is yet to be unveiled, India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM) commenced booking of its first scooter in India. Moreover, IYM has not even officially announced the price tag of the much anticipated scooter, Ray. Its transparent that IYM is adopting some sort of tricks to promote its debut scooter in the Indian scooter market.
IYM has uploaded a Guess and Win Yamaha Ray contest in which customers can suggest an approximate ex-showroom price of Ray. The most accurate answer can ride away on a brand new Yamaha Ray. And for all who suggest Rays price tag in the contest will get a 10% voucher on genuine Yamaha helmet, apparels and accessories. Further, 1000 lucky bookings will get Yamaha merchandise as well.
The idea behind the contest is clear that IYM is eager to know the approximate value of Ray at which the scooter can be easily sold out by competing with the major rivals, Activa and Access. IYM is a bit confused and tensed to price its first scooter and it completely left to the Indian customers in the name of a contest. However, this new strategy of IYM will only boost its business since it not only meets the mind of customers but also promotes its first attempt in the scooter segment, Ray.
