Addressing the media while launcheing, Bajaj Auto President of Motorcycle Business, K Srinivas said, "Discover ST is not an upgrade to a Discover model, but a new product in B-segment. It constitutes almost 17 per cent of the market of which we have around 30 per cent market share. What we are hoping through this product is more customers will migrate to this segment. Our hope is that customers in the 'A segment' will migrate to this and we also gain some market share through this distinguished product. It will be suffice to say we are doing close to 50,000 units in the 125 cc segment. We will be very surprised if we do not increase that number substantially."
The 125cc displaced engine is mated effectual enough with a 13 bhp power and 10.8 Nm torque. The motorcycle is expected to deliver an economical figure of 65 kmpl. Moreover, it comes with monoshock suspension and petal disk which are first in 125 segment. The introduction of Discover 125 ST will result in a rigid competition between Hero Glamour, Honda Shine, Bajaj Discover 125 as well as Discover 125 ST.
