Suzuki has taken a step further with its Gixxer 155 and introduced a fully faired model of the same at a price of Rs 83,450.(ex-showroom - Delhi)
Suzuki Gixxer was the turning point for Suzuki in the Indian Bike segment in the 150cc-160cc range and still attracts a lot of young riders. The new Suzuki Gixxer SF sports a new look with full fairing, something that Suzuki claims was modeled using wind-tunnels tests that were used for the Hayabusa and the like.
Essentially, the bike remains the same on the inside, the engine and all the mechanicals borrowed from its predecessor, the Gixxer 155.
The engine produces 14.8 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 14Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, mated to a 5-speed transmission. Suzuki says that the normal Gixxer 155 cannot be made into the newer Gixxer SF. The fairing has angular air-intakes on the sides and covers the engine completely. The new bike comes with a special Racing Blue livery besides two other color options, Pearl White and Sparkling Black.
Every other element belongs to the original Gixxer but is a little taller at 1085mm. With the addition of a fairing, the bike weighs more than the original, with a Kerb Weight of 139kg.
The Gixxer SF would surely make gains for Suzuki and is also set impress the younger folk. With the launch of the new bike from Suzuki, this will pose a direct challenge to Yamaha with their Fazer V2.
Launched at Rs 83,889
