Suzuki Hayate EP is a 110cc commuter motorcycle aimed at the middle-aged men for day to day rides. It is the much-updated version of Hayate with a slew of cosmetic and technical changes. Hayate EP was launched in 2016 along with the updated Suzuki Access 125.
The Engine and Performance
Hayate EP features all aluminium 4-stroke, single cylinder 113cc engine with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology. This unique technology delivers class-leading fuel economy without compromising the performance of the bike. The mill delivers a maximum power of 8.5 bhp @ 75000 rpm and peak torque of 9.3 Nm @ 5000 rpm. it gets the same 4-speed transmission unit found in the previous Hayate.
Design and Styling
Suzuki Hayate EP is pretty basic motorcycle by the way it looks. Apart from the additional decals and new graphics, there are no other cosmetic changes in this EP edition. The makers have employed longer seat and extended wheelbase to improve the ride comfort of this two-wheeler. Moreover, Hayate EP features large multi-reflector headlamp & bright turn indicators, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and analogue instrument cluster with black and white readouts.
Chassis, Suspension and Braking
Suzuki Hayate EP gets a new diamond frame which is lighter and helps in better maneuverability and fuel economy. This lightweight chassis best suits for the Indian road conditions and driving style. The bike altogether weighs only 109 kg which is easily manageable for an average rider. The suspension system consists of a telescopic fork at the front and 5-sted adjustable shock absorber at the rear. It helps in adding the extra stability and flexibility required for different roads of the country. Moreover, the alloy and tubeless tyres make it easy to maintain. Conventional drum brakes at both the end make sure the stopping power of Hayate EP.
