Japanese motorcyle brand Suzuki launched its entry level model Hayate in Kerala market. Eyeing middle class members, the bike comes with a 112cc engnie. The company assures a mileage of 70kmpl in standard condition.
"Kerala is an important market for motorcycles. We expect Hayate to secure a distinct space for itself in the Indian motorcycle market" said Anand Thakur, national head in sales, Suzuki, at the launch. Currently Kerala Suzuki has a share of 6% in the country. And by launching Hayate, Kerala market is looking forward to gear up by 10% this fiscal year. That is to sell 4.5 lakh units where it was 3.6 in the last fiscal year.
Hayate will be available in two variants - the Hayate KS, which is priced at Rs 41,021 (ex-showroom Kochi), and the Hayate SS priced at Rs 43,021. "The 100-110 cc motorcycle segment currently contributes 52% of the company's two-wheeler sales nationally. The company currently has 300 dealers across India, which it plans to expand to 400 by the end of March 2013 and 600 by 2014" commented Atul Gupta, VP (sales and marketing), Suzuki Motorcycle India.
The bike is available in green, red, white, grey and black colours.
