First Impression Review

Suzuki entered the premium 150cc segment with their 155cc powered Gixxer range of bikes. It is said to be the game changing model for the Japanese brand in India. This street commuter was purposely built for the Indian and nearby market. It is based on the all time popular GSX-R range of premium sports bikes. This one primarily targets on style, fuel efficiency, minimal performance and the cost effective production.

The Design
The engineers of Suzuki has well crafted this bike according to the latest trend and demand in the market. This naked looking street bike have many sharp characters throughout its body, especially those sharp lines which runs from head to tail. The triangular shaped headlamp with bikini fairing is an eye catchy element. Side panels bearing the ‘Gixxer’ badge is incorporated as an extended part of the fuel tank. The sculpted fuel tank is the other attention seeking element in this bike. It gives a manly bossing nature to the model. It also bears a ‘3D Suzuki logo’ in glossy chrome finish.

In order to give an aggressive look to the model, they have made the tail section bit sharp and more attractive. The body colored grab rails and the use of LED taillight has made it even more presentable. The carved out seat provides a spot on riding position with the perfect combination of wide one-piece handlebar.

Features
Gixxer features full digital smart instrument console displaying RPM Indicator, LCD trip meter, gear position indicator and programmable gear shift indicator as well. Another unique feature of the Gixxer series is the dual-type exhaust kit, which is used for the first time in a 150cc motorcycle. It gives a premium looks to the bike as well as delivers a smooth exhaust note. The ‘Y’ shaped alloy wheels are usually found in high end GSX-R bikes and Hayabusa models are also used in the Gixxer variant. Altogether, the fit and finish of the bike is superb and it definitely stands with the quality built of Suzuki motorcycles.

The mill churns out a maximum power of 14.8 Ps @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The engine is constructed using all aluminium ultra light weight component for maximum efficiency and top class power performance.

Gixxer (naked) is good bike but if you ever get in to accident then the problem starts you would have to wait like more than one month minimum or two month for the spare parts plus SVC will charge you high labour charges. I got in to small accident I was unhurt but my front side of bike had a little bend and my estimate is 18k ruppees. Really costly. And still right now I haven't got my bike back from SVC. Feeling helpless for their bad after service.

Gixxer gives less than 50kmpl say 45 max. buy this if your not fuel concerned and roads near you are good because its ground clearance is worst compare with other bikes if you want. but hands down with its looks. breaking is not that satisfactory
By on 28-05-2015
On 6 Months data I have, In worst scenario mileage will be around 40-45 pl, in consistent drive and consistent speed of 45-55, Millage will be 48-52 pl

I have purchase suzuki gixxer on 14/11/2014 after one month waiting. Till now I have completed 3200 km on my gixxer, I have check it's mileage 7-8 times n it's giving mileage of 55 to 57 km/l in mixed conditions both city n highway. Definitely giving 55+ mileage and control n ride quality is superb. I mean riding my bike between 4000 to 4500 rpm. Mileage of any vehicle depends upon some more things fuel quality, road conditions, maintenance of vehicle n driver. Read user's manual for maximum output.

Guys, I purchased this bike exactly 1 month ago, bike is awesome, no issues whatsoever, I stay in bangalore ride at an average speed of 55-70kmph on the ring road for about 28kms daily, the worst part of the bike is its mileage, I get about 38kms per litre exactly, however did fill for 600 Rs.(69Rs/litre) and travelled 350kms, the bike's first long ride. hapy riding guys, enjoy the beauty and performance, mileage though very less is acceptable, if you ride properly within 50 kmph maybe you wil get an increase in mileage of anout 5kms. BTW I have done my first service and have clocked 1100kms on the bike uptil now. Ride safe guys
By on 09-01-2015

Hello guys.
I was initially confused about buying 150 cc bike.
I took a test drive of bike. I found some points about Gixxer which make it distinguishing. I wish to buy this just need last opinion.

1. It is 154.5 cc and not 149.5 cc.
[More powerful than FZS FI]
2. Bike length is more than FZS FI
[More Stability]
3. Indicators are rubbery and foldable.
[No mechanical damage if lateral running vehicle hits it.]
4. SEP Suzuki Eco Performance
[Improves mileage]
5. Carburettor engine
[FZS FI has fuel injection. No comparison here But, fuel air mixing would be good]
6. Muscular body with stylish muffler and colours.
[Impressive looks]
7. Digital panel for tacho, rpm and odo.
[More readable with many options on display]
8. Driver and pillion seat is joined.
[More space than split seat]
9. Tubeless tyres.
[No puncture issue]
10. Very smooth engine
[Very low vibration while long drive]
11. Low cost 84k on road (Sangli M.C. Area)
[6k less than FZS FI]
12. Old ladies can not sit comfortably. So,
somewhat tedious to drive with mother.

Still, A perfect reverse engineering! If you look through different angles, you will notice different plus points of all the bikes including Yamaha FZS FI 2.0, Hero Hunk, Hero Xtreme, Honda Trigger, Bajaj Pulsar, KTM duke etc. (not a limited list)

If my points are correct, please tell me you views. Gixxer users plz help.

Bro go for gixxer it is having a sportive look.
Mother as a pillon rider I don't think so. Pillon seat is a bit small and slopy.
Gixxer have only one model which comes with 155cc
By on 27-10-2014
I bought White Gixxer almost a month ago. I have driven around 1,500 km. before 1st service I was getting 50 km/l mileage. After 1st service getting around 55 and became even smoother. To get better mileage up to 800 km keep rpm below 4500. after 1st service you can increase up to 60000 rpm which will take you to 90km/hr. Because of its wider tyre you will experience a better road grip. As suggested by Isuzu don't forget to read USER MANUAL. from my point of view Gixxer rocks!!!
By on 25-10-2014
Hi rajeev, I owned this bike a week ago, I am getting 50+ mileage and I drive at a speed of below 60kmph and below 4500 rpm, you shouldn't ride the bike at constant speed vary the speed keep a little pressure to the engine, and coming to comfort it's superb, handling is awesome, light weight, good pickup!, most people neglect this READ USER MANUAL!, DON'T IGNORE IT!
By on 23-10-2014
i like the features of this bike. and its more stylish than yamaha fz. company is telling that it gives the mileage in a range of 55-60kmph. are they telling truth??
By on 23-10-2014
I have owned this bike before 20days.
Handling is superb and sitting is very comfortable.
But I am disappointed with the mileage, company is claiming 63km/l but It's actual mileage in city road is just 35km/l which is very low comparative to what company claims.
And many of the guys who have bought this and claiming mileage of 45-50km/l should recheck it.
Except mileage everything else is superb.
By on 21-10-2014
Its a successful creation of this company the price is defined well but not quite sure of its millage .
But i would love to buy it . its simply stylish
By on 17-10-2014

By on 10-10-2014
Hi victory, the milage purely depends on your riding quality, so if you ride it in a decent speed, like don't drive above 4500rpm until 2K-3k kms, drive below 60kmph and definitely you will get the good mileage like 52+,like what I am getting, and more important be patient don't hesitate at the begging, it gives good mileage, after 2K-3K you can raise the rpm
By on 09-10-2014
Hi guys,im using this bike for past 15days. Its really very nice bike. smooth engine u dont feel any vibe even in high rpm. excellent handling and comfort.superb look especially blue color.im getting mileage exactly 53kmpl (riding 40 to 65kmph) in city driving.
By on 09-10-2014
I want to purchase this bike but I don't know exact that what is the mileage of this bike? If the mileage is really 63 or 60 above than really I m going to purchase this bike tomorrow. yes really. !!

hiiii friends. I am driving gixxer from 20 days now 600 km done. I drove it between 50-60 kmph. it's giving me 54 kmpl. it's vibration free, powerful, good looking bike. as compared with all 150cc bikes gixxer has more power, torque, pickup n average. it's smoother than all 150cc bikes. so don't worry about the bike and it's performance n average just go for it. I love my gixxer.
By on 04-10-2014
It is looking very nice now i am planing to buy but i got some information that this bike's Muffer under touching to humps is it right? please help me!
By on 02-10-2014
Guys,it's output is 14.8bhp @8000rpm and coming to torque 14nm @6000rpm and that's cool, and coming to mileage most people waiting for this, see guys if you ride the bike for 2k-4k kms below 4500 rpm you will get best mileage and don't suddenly increase the rpm, this keeps full stress on the engine, one of my friend used to ride his fz with carelessness and used to stress the engine more and ultimately he got 25kmpl,so ride vehicle very carefully until 2k-3k kms and after that you can raise the rpm slowly

If you talk of technology and brand then Suzuki is the best brand in india as we all know about maruti suzuki, no dought of its world wide two wheeler products which are on top at the moment, for indian market we aiso see maintenance because of poor roads for which suzuki is best as its after sales service and spairs are cheep from other brands,if we talk about suzuki GIXXER its a sporty look bike in low range segment compairing to suzuki big bikes as hyabusa, intruder etc.
So as i think close your eyes and buy GIXXER which have no vibration on high speed which is the best in this segment and fuel efficient 60 kmp/lit

I have Suzuki GS150R.
I m the Craziest fan of suzuki byk, Byk looks good everything is perfect but Just problem is there, Gs 150r has 6 speed and Gixxer is having 5 Speed.

Hi In Chennai its 83,400. Mileage is 50 - 55 exactly. Had a test drive. It was a smooth drive. Looks awesome to drive. Only props is you can't self start bike directly while in neutral. you need to hold the clutch to start just like scooties

Guys i took a test drive just a couple of days back. Excellent power even ,ore what would you get in Pulsar 180cc, Awesome Pickup and Very Stylish. Drawback is it is slightly over priced. On road price is 83000/- and the best part is average which the company claims is 68.1 on highway and in city 55-58. I think its grt. Would buy it. Definitely.

Its a very good bike for youth riders, fun to ride, good handling and excellent initial acceleration (even better than 180cc bikes). but lack of performance after 80km/hr. The engine is quite small comparing to its segment. But from my aspect i personally think that the engine technology used in GS150R is better and more refined than Gixxer.

Hello friends. I just gave a test ride This beast on 16/08/14. Its just a flawless bike with very very less vibe. excellent initial pickup, Handling and braking is excellent too. , it can easily beat Apache rtr 160 in short distance. up to 90km/hr. but after that very poor performance, could have been better. Not much satisfied with the bike after 90.

Gone through its specification, this bike is awesome. I m a fan of suzuki. My current bike is Gs150r. It is still a hunk in its range, no comparision to it. Gixxer is so advanced and has overcomed all most every cons in Gs150r. Eagerly waiting for its availability in showroom. It will be my next bike.

i don't know why suzuki wait till july??????????? its rainy seasons , who going to buy that time????? before that other company cover market ,best time for new launch in automobile sector march or April. after that vacations are going to start (till September for automobile sector ) and if company become successes to put maximum vehicle in market then its easy to doing business during navratri and diwali.
