First Impression Review
The Squadron Blue is one of the Classic lineups with attractive paint jobs; Royal Enfield has ever showcased in India. Apart from the Squadron Blue paint job, RE has retained the same design and mechanical section, for the Classic are known and loved for.
Engine
The company has given this special jobs to the 500cc lineups of motorcycles. This special edition metal Motorrad comes with a traditional 500cc Single Cylinder, 4 strokes Aircooled engine with Fuel injection technology. The engine produces 27.2 bhp @ 5250 rpm and a peak torque maximum of 41.3 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The fuel injected engine performs well and is well composed with fewer vibrations.
The 500cc engine is very relaxed and gets the job done for occasional short rides and long distance touring.
The bike uses a Single downtube frame with engine as a stressed member. The suspension setup is done with Telescopic, 35mm forks with 130mm travel at the rear and a Twin gas charged shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload and 80mm travel at the rear. RE has given 280mm Disc, 2-Piston calliper at the front and a 153mm Drum with Single Lead Internal Expanding braking system at its rear. Royal Enfield could have given disc brakes at the rear for big motorcycles like this and needless to say the absence of ABS is also worth mentioning. This motorcycle has a big fuel capacity of 13.5 Ltr.
Final Words
The Squadron Blue edition of the Classic 500 is a fresh welcome from the brand. As the sales of Royal Enfiled motorcycles are in its rise, the addition of a new paint job will catch more eyes and adds charms to the number of similar colour vehicles in the metal motorcycles lineup.
