First Impression Review
The Versys is a motorcycle that's been developed by taking elements of design from sports bike and adventure tourers. The whole making of the Versys is to match the conditions of touring and adventure. The Versys 1000 LT models go with a colour-matched 28 litre hard saddlebags featuring KQR mounts. The saddle bag is integrated into the mounting system that utilizes the ignition key for simple saddlebag unlocking and removal. The LT model also comes with a windscreen that could be installed without a tool and the Versys also comes with a hand guard that provide additional wind protection at harsh weather conditions.
Versys Performance
A very powerful 4-stroke, 4 cylinder, DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled 1,043cc engine gives life to the new Versys 1000 LT. The massive engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with the uses of DFI w/38mm Keihin throttle bodies and oval sub-throttles as its fuel system. A TCBI with digital advance forms the ignition system. Under the hood, the Versys has a very strong Twin-spar aluminium chassis. The whole motorcycle is strengthened by this chassis and enables the Versys to scale adventurous riding to another level of pure motorcycle riding euphoria.
The Versys 1000 LT packs a KYB 43mm inverted front fork as its front suspension with adjustable rebound and preload, and a Horizontal back-link shock with adjustable rebound damping and adjustable spring preload, remote preload adjuster as the rear suspension.
Braking
The braking system of the Versys 1000 LT is done with Dual 310mm petal rotors with four-piston callipers, ABS at the front and a Single 250mm petal rotor with a single-piston calliper, ABS at the rear. Kawasaki has given ABS as standard on all Versys models offering additional reassurance when braking on low-grip or slippery surfaces.
Verdict
The Versys 1000 LT with all its purposeful features and the 1000cc engine makes all adventures and long distance touring an unforgettable experience. The engine is made to pulp out more torque at low speeds giving maximum control and power at the fingertips. The Versys with all its adventurous capabilities and purposeful design is must have to take around mountains and hidden valleys.
