Ducati Monster 797 is the cheapest and most affordable Ducati sports bike. It is available in India from May 2017 onwards. Even though it is the youngest member of Monster family, it still carries the passion, power and agility of the Monster. The Monster 797 follows the footprints of the classic Monster series designed by Miguel Galluzin in 1992. It sticks closer to the elder sibling Monster 900 with minimal outfits and rather exposed trellis frame. The headlamp, fuel tank and the double sided swingarm found in the 797 are similar to the Monster 900 and 1200. Moreover, the fully digital instrument console of the 797 gets Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) with under seat USB port one could connect their smartphone with the system.

At the center 803cc, L-Twin, Desmodromic engine teamed up with 6-speed gearbox to deliver a maximum power of 73 bhp and peak torque of 67 Nm @ 5750 rpm. The engine is equipped with advanced electronic fuel injection with 50 mm throttle bodies. It gets 2 to 1 exhaust system with catalytic converters and 2 lambda probes. The wheels are made of light alloy which is wrapped by Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres for maximum grip and control. The suspension system consists of 43 mm Kayaba USD fork at the front and Sachs monoshock with pre-load at the rear end.

The Monster 797 comes with an 803 cc L-Twin cylinder, 2 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, air cooled engine that is a nod to the origins of the Monster that develops 73 Hp of power at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 67 Nm at 5,750 rpm.It uses Electronic fuel injection system, 50 mm throttle bodies as the fuel system. The L Twin engine is designed to offer pure riding enjoyment and sees no compromise on performance on the fast lane.

Ducati Monster 797

The Monster 797 uses a rigid trellis frame in steel tubes that gives a good view of the twin-cylinder of the Monster on full display together with the steel tank. The engineers have designed the frame to be combined perfectly with the double-sided swingarm and this gives good feedback and control at higher speeds. The Monster 797 comes with a 43 mm diameter Kayaba fork with 125 mm wheel travel at the front and a rear suspension with adjustable Sachs shock, with spring preload and an extension on the left side of the bike connected without progressive leverage to the frame and fork. The rear shock system has a maximum wheel travel of 150 mm.

Ducati has given 10-spoke wheels light alloy on the Monster 797 with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres as stock to make the motorcycle showcase ultimate riding comfort during long trips with a constant grip on corners and street roads. The dry weight of the bike is 175 kg while the wet weight of the Ducati Monster 797 is 193 kg.
