The TNT 300 is the naked superbike from the Italian maker Benelli which comes as a sibling to the TNT 400. The TNT 300 is inspired by the naked motorcycle riding and showcase much of the dynamics and rage adopted from the TNT 400 and 600. The naked sports styling and the carefully designed front fenders combined with the aggressive appearance make this motorcycle a sure thing on Indian roads.
Engine
The TNT 300 comes with a very powerful 300 cc, in-line twin cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid cooled engine. This twin cylinder engine uses DOHC system with an 8 valve mechanism. The engine works with Delphi fuel injection system to produce a maximum raw power of 37 bhp @ 1150 rpm and 26.5 Nm @ 10000 rpm. The engine is mated to 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.
The inline twin cylinder engine provides maximum power and torque to the rider and ensures comfortable riding experience on roads. The exhaust note of the twin cylinder engine is very commendable and worthy to hold price while considering other 300 cc bikes in the segment. The Italian marvel can be seen in the carefully designed making of this powerful engine.
Chassis, Suspension and Braking
The TNT 300 uses a Steel Trellis frame and this holds the whole motorcycle and the enormous engine together. The 300 uses Inverted front telescopic forks for its front suspension and a Hydraulic Mono shock absorber for its rear suspension. The suspension setup enables this naked monster to rule the roads or no roads with maximum comfort and handling. Benelli has given Hydraulic dual disc brakes at the front and a Hydraulic Single disc brake at the rear. The 300 showcase superb stopping power and the riding dynamics and handling of this bike also come combined with the alloy wheels at both front and rear, enabling the TNT 300 to cut through highways and corners with much agility and superb handling.
This TNT features a well-balanced suspension system complemented by a very comfortable seat that aids in a very good riding position both on highways, traffic and track alike. It uses a big 17-inch aluminium alloy rims with 120/70 sized tyre at the front and 160/60 sized at the rear and comes with a ground clearance of 160mm. The overall weight of the bike is at 196 kg and the bike maintains a very good power to weight ratio for ultimate performance.
Verdict
The aggressive stance, race inspired design and mean sports look, makes the TNT 300 a powerful and mean machine that has the ability to leave the impression of an aggressive modern super sports bike in the eyes of the spectators. The TNT 300, with all its sports-inspired styling, comfortable seat and unique riding position ensures good long ride capabilities for the rider as well as the pillion. The TNT 300 belongs to those who need an extra torque and power to conquer the roads, highways and beyond.
Much of the naked styling, the aggressive sporty appearance and the marvellous Italian making, enables this naked monster to be favourite pick for the motorcycle enthusiast and the likes. But when looking at the price one may cave for the more powerful and the low-priced Duke 390, one would also go for the Kawasaki Z250. But what makes the TNT 300 different is its riding position, unique and harmonious exhaust note and the very comfortable seat that enables even the pillion rider to enjoy long rides, which is especially an advantage lacked by other superbikes in its class.
