The Aprilia RSV4 R APRC ABS is a spectacular bike that is everything that is worth more than the sum of its parts. Even though a small company by global standards, Aprilia attracted fame with its superb quality of motorcycle from their factory and stands tall in the motorcycle world. The edition of the RSV4 R APRC with ABS adds colours to the existing editions of RSVs.
The Aprilia RSV4 R APRC ABS comes with a 999.60cc longitudinal 65° V-4 cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid cooling engine with double overhead camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder. The big engine produces a maximum power of 184 bhp @ 12.500 rpm and a 117 Nm a 10.000 rpm. The engine uses Magneti Marelli digital electronic ignition system integrated into engine control system, with one spark plug per cylinder and “stick-coil”-type coils are used.
The RSV4 R APRC ABS uses Twin-spar aluminium frame, with castings and pressings. Sachs steering damper. The suspension duties of the bike are done with Sachs upside-down fork, Ø43 mm. Low profile forged aluminium radial calliper mountings. Completely adjustable spring preload and hydraulic compression and rebound damping with a wheel travel of 120 mm, while the rear suspension is done with Double braced aluminium swingarm; mixed low thickness and sheet casting technology. A Sachs mono-shock absorber with completely adjustable piggy-back in spring preload, centre to centre length, hydraulic compression and rebound damping is used with APS progressive linkage and has a wheel travel of 130 mm.
The braking of this RSV4 R uses Dual 320-mm diameter floating stainless steel disc with lightweight stainless steel rotor and aluminium while the rear brakes are of 220-mm diameter disc; new Brembo calliper with two Ø32 mm isolated pistons and Sintered pads. The wheels are Aprilia 3 spokes made of aluminium alloy. The petrol tank capacity of the bike is 18.5 litres. Aprilia has managed to shed weight in many areas and hs managed to bring down the weight of the entire motorcycle to just 186 kgs.
