Aprilia, the Italian premium motorcycle manufacturer is all set to launch its newly unveiled bi-wheeler, the Caponord 1200 in India. The booking has already been initiated at the Pune store of Aprilia. With the arrival of the Caponord 1200, the Indian motorcycle industry will register another milestone in terms of having a high-end sportbike on shore.
The Caponord 1200 was firstly debuted at the 2012 EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori or Milan Motorcycle Show), in Milan, Italy. The machine has been dedicatedly moulded out to rival against its die-hard competitors, KTM 1190 Adventure, BMW R1200GS, Ducati Multistrada, Moto Guzzi Stelvio, Triumph Tiger Explorer, and Yamaha Super Tenere.
The Caponord 1200 is precisely an adventure bike which is made for both off and on-roading. As it is from a world class two-wheeler manufacturer, we need not to worry much on its quality, performance, stability and all and all features.
The bike is powered by an 1197cc, Aprilia V90 four-stroke longitudinal 90° V-twin, liquid cooled, double overhead camshaft with mixed gear/chain timing system, four valves per cylinder engine. It ensures excellent power and maximum torque as its engine is of highly advanced engine construction technology that has been built in 90°longitudinal V-Twin which is further tuned under long researches and studies. The engine generates an outstanding power of 128 hp at 8500 rpm and a respectable 115.2 Nm torque at 6500 rpm. Its engine is further coupled with a 6 speed engine. Moreover, the Electronic Fuel Injection with two throttle bodies and double multi-hole injectors for each throttle body assures maximum mileage for the machine.
It is obviously loaded with enormous amount of features. It must be said that sometime it feels like a crossover of the the RSV4 Factory ABS and the Dorsoduro 1200 ABS since it is mated with the features of the RSV4 Factory and the body language of the Dorsoduro.
Of course it is a touring machine, so travelling comfort is uncompromising here. The bike is wedded with the ADD (Aprilia Dynamic Damping), which is a semi-active suspension system that brings the beauty of comfort to the next level. City or highway, turns or straight and speed bumps or dimples, this enduro goes on and on without stressing the riders back. The bike also features the latest electronic features in the RSV4 Factory. The machine comes in ABS as well.
Aprilia Coponord is expected to be priced around Rs. 14 lakh. Aprilia is wholly subsidiary group of Piaggio
