Suzuki Access 125 cc Review

Suzuki Access was launched with the hope that it will revive the fortunes of Suzuki. Zeus and Heat were a flop and Access 125cc scooter cannot be said a failure but it's not a fortune changer either for Suzuki. But it did capture some market share from Honda Activa (although it's a 100cc scooter) for sure.

Suzuki Access 125cc is a unisex scooter that is designed to perfectly suit the Indian road conditions. With a close to perfect finish and the amazing feature of the body is that it is rust free because of non-metallic body. The funky rear foot pegs make pillion rider sit comfortably. The under seat storage is good if not great and it can contain your helmet without a hassle. The contemporary telescopic suspension as in bikes make ride on Access quite smooth. The multi-reflector headlamps, electric start option and fuel gauge and speedometer all are a package that reflects
as if it has respected modern motorists basic needs.

The indicator lights are studded as jewels on the apron giving it awesome look. Other accessories including bent front fender, leg shield, footmat for the rider, trendy body color grips give the vehicle a sporty like with a strong appeal. Wide seats offer comfortable and flat seating and support for the pillion rider. In all the design and looks draw some similarities with Honda Activa although Access outscores.

Engine and Performance
The Suzuki access 125cc scooter runs on a 4-stroke and an air-cooled engine that has a Continuous Variable Transmission or CVT feature.

The 125cc engine generates 8.58bhp at 7000rpm and a 10Nm at 5500rpm. Similar to Suzuki Zeus Access engine features what is called Extra Torque and Performance (XTP). Access 125cc scooter gives a fuel efficiency of around 45 kmpl although the company promises 60kmpl mileage.

Handling and comfort
The combination of telescopic fork suspension at the front and swing arm suspension at the rear give decent ride even on pothole filled roads and cruises great on good roads.

As it is a 125cc engine you will not find the pick up to be slow but it is indeed great. Suzuki Access outscores Honda Activa with its almost instant start. Braking is good and the ignition key come with a shutter system. The vehicle seems to cruise smoothly through potholes and braking is up to the mark.

Colour
Suzuki Access comes in five color options of pearl nebular black, metallic silver, metallic euclase silver, candy antares red and metallic Grey.

Pricing
For the features and comforts it offers Access comes at Rs 44,850 (Ex-showroom Delhi). Surprisingly, Kinetic Flyte is Suzuki Access competitor in the 125cc segment. Flyte comes with more features but it doesn't score well when it comes to looks or design and both seem to be sailing in the same boat when it comes to popularity. Although Honda Activa is a 102cc vehicle it sells well and at least for now Suzuki Access cannot dream of stealing Activa's share.
