In accordance with the 2016 Malaysian MotoGP, Yamaha unveiled their new scooter NVX at Sepang. The event was glamorous with the presence of Nine time world champion Valentino Rossi. NVX was featured at the Auto Expo 2016, earlier this year.
The upcoming Yamaha Aerox in December will witness the official launch of NVX in Thailand and Vietnam. But there is no confirmation of NVX’s other ASEAN country launches.
This 155cc scooter is based on the Yamaha Blue Core liquid cooled engine, capable of delivering 14.8bhp @ 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.4Nm @ 6000 rpm. And this single cylinder is mated with a CVT gearbox. Unlike their NMax sibling, this new scooter has a bulkier styling, especially at the fairing department. The under seat storage capacity is astonishingly 25 litre and dashboard features a small glove box.
A key feature of the NVX is the Smart key system, which enables the rider with a key-less start and stop feature. Other than that, a “kill switch” is also featured in this scooter. The instrument console is a 5.8 inch LCD display screen. Twin eye LED headlights and LED brake lights are other premium additions in this scooter. Unlike other scooters this one has a 4.5 litre floorboard fuel tank.
We can expect this 155cc Yamaha scooter on the Indian roads by mid 2017. And for the announcement we have to wait untill January 2017, after the Indonesian launch.
