The 2017 Street Scrambler to launch in India on 24th of August
The long wait is over folks! Triumph to launch their most anticipated model, the Street Scrambler on 24th of the August 2017. It is code named as MY17, based on the youngest member of the Triumph family, the Street Twin. The official announcement has overwhelmed the Indian motorcycle enthusiasts as it is the most desired scrambler model in the world.
The upcoming Street Scrambler gonna feature the same 900cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine squeezed further to deliver more grunt at lower revs. The mill delivers a maximum power of 55 bhp @ 6000 rpm and peak torque of 80 Nm @ 2850 rpm. It features the same 5-speed manual gearbox found in the Street Twin with torque assist clutch. It also gets advanced features like ride by wire, switchable traction control, engine immobilizer and switchable ABS.
The Tubular steel cradle chassis of the new Scrambler has been strengthened to withstand the off-roading capabilities. The suspension system of this motorcycle consists of KYB 41 mm cartridge forks and KYB twin shocks with adjustable preload at the front and back respectively. Moreover, the braking duties are handled by 310 mm and 255 mm single disc with Nissin 2-piston floating calipers at the front and rear respectively. Meanwhile, ABS is a standard feature at both the ends. With 12 litres of fuel tank capacity and 26 kmpl of mileage, this bike offers long distance runs.
Other features of the Scrambler includes interchangeable pillion seats, aluminium racks with removable pillion pegs, LED rear light, USB socket, TPMS and LCD display with analogue speedo and odometer. The new Street Scrambler will be positioned in between the Street Twin and the Bonneville T100, which is expected to be priced around 8 to 9 lakhs ex-showroom in India. It will be the second offering from the Triumph motorcycles in this year followed by Triumph Speed Triple S.
