The ace English bike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles has announced the launch date of their latest offering '2017 Street Triple' in India. According to the Triumph India operations, the bike will be officially launched on June 12 of 2017. The new Street Triple 675 was launched in the UK earlier this year. This particular model is available in three different variants such as R, RS and S version.
From the above three models, the 'S' variant is about to launch in June, whereas high spec RS and R will be available in the months to follow. The Street Triple S booking has already started in Triumph dealerships across the country.
The 2017 Street Triple S is based on the newly developed 765cc, in-line 3 cylinder engine delivering a maximum power of 111 bhp @ 11250 rpm and a peak torque of 73 Nm @ 9100 rpm in the base model. These performance figures are subjected to rise in R and RS models. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which is well assisted by Slipper Clutch Assist and Quickshifter.
Triumph has retained the same base chassis for the 2017 version. However, it gets a redesigned gull-wing swingarm and mounting points and powder coated subframe. Other features include ABS, Switchable traction control, LED position lights, LCD instrument console, sporty twin seats and riding modes.
Furthermore, Triumph will be the official engine supplier for MotoGP Moto2 class from the year 2019. They had signed a three-year deal for supplying race tuned 765cc triple engine replacing the Honda's 600cc, in-line 4 cylinder engine. The Roadster engine will get fine tuning for the race track conditions.
