India’s best selling sports bike manufacturer KTM has revealed their two new editions of RC 390 and 390 in the latest Intermot festival at Cologne. The 2017 Duke 390 gets an all new design adapted from their flagship model Super Duke R 1290. Meanwhile the new RC 390 has a new paint scheme, while engine remains the same for both. The new 390 is expected to be available from mid 2017, but we can expect the new RC from late November 2016.
The new 390 features some notable changes from headlamp to the tail lamp. New headlamp resembles Kawasaki’s Z 1000. The alien looking headlamp gives a new sporty look for the duke. The instrument cluster is made of TFT touch display with tachometer and smart phone connectivity enabled. A pair of down and up arrow switches are also fitted along the left handle bars, in order to toggle the new touch screen instrument panel.
Both the new editions will have side exhaust kit unlike under belly exhaust from previous models. This is based on the new European emission norms. The new 390 will also have a strong bigger fuel tank suited for long distance rides. Not only that slipper clutch and ride by wire system which improves the driving mode from the first generation duke.
Duke 200 and 390 are two best selling sports bikes on Indian roads. And now the second generation of both these models will be even spicier than previous ones. So, brace yourself for the new Duke saga.
