It seems that Hero MotoCorp is all up to grab as much as market stake it can and in no mood to leave its current stake to any foreign company either. The latest and the greatest news about Hero MotoCorp is that the firm is working on the updated Impulse, which is expected to be appeared in Hero outlets across the country in a short while.
According to leaks, the work is at the final stage. More importantly, Hero's new partner, Erik Buell Racing (EBR) has a great hand in moulding out the 2014 Impulse.
It has been rumoured that the next generation Impulse will be equipped with a bigger engine and so will be the power of the bike.
Launched in 2011, the Impulse had a great entry when the whole Indian motorcycle industry and enthusiasts revieved the bike very warmly. It was also the first bike to be branded 'Hero' alone after Hero MotoCorp partying with Honda. However, the company failed to keep the moment of the stunning machine. There was once even a such stage that Hero was almost up to discontinue the first Indian off and on-roader from its line-up.
The Impulse is powered by a 149.2cc, Air cooled, 4- stroke single cylinder OHC engine, which is powerful enough to deliver a peak output of 9.7 kW (13.2 Ps) @ 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.4 N-m @ 5000 rpm. Its heart is coupled with a 5 speed gear transmission.
