The machine is likely to be named as "899 Panigale", which is expected to replace the successful 848 Ducati superbike range in a few months. The baby Panigale will be powered by an all new bigger sized four-stroke, 899cc, V-twin engine that had been progressing since two years in the Ducati R&D. The bigger heart will also pump out more horsepower by up to 150 Hp. Presently, the 848 is hearted by a 849.4cc, L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine, that delivers a peak power of 140 hp @ 10,500 rpm and peak torque of 98 Nm @ 9,750 rpm.
The 899 Panigale will be cuing many stuffs from its elder brother such as cutting-edge motorcycle technology, anti-lock brakes, traction control, variable riding modes, and a quick shifter. More impressively, the design itself will be resembling the flagship Panigale.
The motorbike will be certainly placed below the 1199 Panigale range and will be in markets in a few months. However, the down-version of the elder Panigale, will be launched in India only after few months after its launch in the European and American markets.
