
Shutting down all excitements, the Italian scooter conglomerate, Piaggio unveiled the Vespa 946 at the 2012 EICMA show, in Milan, Italy. The scooter is Inspired by the WWII-era Vespa MP6 prototype. It is molded on 3 heritage themes-declaration of independence, Italian since generations and eternal in innovation. Furthermore, its lightweight, high-quality build and sleek design feature a perfect urban commuter.
The Vespa 946 comes with a better and more powerful air-cooled 125cc four-stroke Single cylinder engine. It produces a maximum power of up to 11.7 hp at 8250 rpm and reaches a high 10.3 Nm torque at 7000 rpm.

The new engine minimises fuel consumption and emissions with 3-valve injection and bearings for all moving parts and it adds techno(eco)logical power to the scooter. This newly designed engine is built at the Pontedera plant in Italy. Comparing to its predecessor, the Vespa 2013 certifies a 7.1% increase in power and a 10.3% in torque.

The price and official launch of the Vespa 946 are yet be announced by the company. Notwithstanding, the scooter is expected to be debuted in US markets by January 2013. The price may be tagged at Rs. 80,000 in India.
