Hero MotoCorp Accounts in Sri Lanka

Worlds largest two wheeler selling conglomerate, Hero Motocorp invaded into the Sri Lankan motorcycle market by launching its 14 models in Lankan soil. This is the first foray into the international two wheeler industry after the newly incorporated brand identity of the company, Hero Motocorp Ltd. The consortium has signed a deal with the ABANS Group for the dealership in the whole country. At present the ABANS has opened up 50 outlets throughout the nation.



"Hero MotoCorp launched brand Hero and its range of two-wheelers in Sri Lanka, marking the brands first foray into the international market since the launch of its new brand identity just over a year ago. Sri Lanka has been a very important market for us, and we have a loyal customer base in this country. It gives me immense pleasure to announce the choice of ABANS group as our partner in this market" said Managing Director and CEO of Hero Motocorp., Mr. Pawan Munjal.



To promote its products, Hero has appointed Sri Lankan cricketer and the former Sri Lankan cricket team captain, Kumar Sangakara as the ambassador of mens motorcycles. Meanwhile, Miss Sri Lanka, Stephanie Siriwardhana is contracted as the representative of womens scooters. The 14 models unveiled in the country includes, Splendor NXG, Super Splendor, Pro, Deluxe, Dawn, Glamour, Passion Pro, Karizma ZMR, Hunk, Xtreme and Achiever and scooter Pleasure.



The officials commented that the company will be adding 50 more showrooms in the country within one year. The reports suggest that Hero also plans to launch its 3 new models, Ignitor, Impulse and Maestro soon. Unveiling the motorcycles, Mr. Munjal added that the consortium had set an aim to achieve 10% of global share in the two wheeler market and as reported earlier the company would be launching its motorcycles in Latin America and Africa soon.
