The Indian two wheeler market which is ruled by the motorcycles seems to be realising the growing demand of scooters among the customers. Reports say that the sale of the scooters hit a 22 month high in the month of November, which showed a 39% increase in scooter sales.
According to a report in The Economic Times that while Hero, Honda Motorcycle and Motorcycles have lined up launches, another Japanese major Yamaha has decided to enter the segment in India with their range of scooters which are as good as their bikes.
The Suzuki company, which have their presence in the scooter segment with its 'Access 125' is introducing a new scooter in Delhi Auto expo. The company has a booking backlog of about 30,000 scooters, even after a 30 percent expansion in monthly production to 27,000 units.
Customers have to wait for as much as three months for the more popular models such as Honda Activa, Suzuki Access and Hero Pleasure. Customers are waiting this period to own a scooter keeping in mind the comfort and the performance a scooter can give.
