14 landmarks, 16 days, 67 riders and 2700 kms are those all about the 9th Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey, the aesthetic pleasure of off-roading! Getting blessed by the Lamas" Buddhist Monks, on 23rd June 2012, Saturday morning, the tour was flagged off by the CEO of Royal Enfield, Dr. Venki Padmanabhan at the historical India Gate.
"We are honoured that this band of riders have elected to come with us, on our motorcycles, on this epic bucket list ride, not just honoured but deeply touched. I love to hear their accounts upon their triumphant return in two weeks. The theme is often about transformation. Boys come back as men, men come back sages and sages come back as grinning boys".
Comparing the lasts editions, the 9th Himalayan tour does have an unusual face as it takes through Spiti Valley and Rohtang Pass. The motorcyclists will take their way to Leh via Parwanoo, Narkhanda, Keylong, Sarchu, Kalpa and Kaza region. After reached at Leh, some fun will be followed and one day recreation too, not to loose the spirit of Himalayan Odyssey. Following, the journey back will resume on July 1, in order to reach Delhi back on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
Guesstimating the places, Kalpa and the Kaza region, are said to be the toughest off roads in the schedule. However 24/7 help has been provided by the authorities to assist motorcyclists needs on time. The 9th journey which has been commenced to show off the enthusiasm in shortlisted 67, from their inner heart to the worldwide Bullet fans is jotting down a new epic to the motorcycle world.
