India's fourth largest motorcycle manufacture TVS has officially announced the launch of a new bike Radeon in the Indian Auto Expo 2012. The company hasn't shined yet in the 125cc segment. Though TVS introduced Jive, it failed to grab attention. But by the coming of Radeon, the Chennai based industry hope a new renaissance in their 125cc portfolio.
The 125cc Radeon strictly suits those who concern mileage and low cost bikes. Of course it would be the cheapest bike comparing the other competitors in this segment such as Hero Glamour, Honda Shine, Bajaj Discover 125, Yamaha Gladiator etc...Even though the company hasn't revealed its market price yet, there is a guess that it would be around Rs. 50000.
"We are coming out with an executive level bike with 125cc engine, which will be launched around July-August 2012. The new motorcycle will fill up our motorcycle portfolio and will help us to grow our motorcycle business in India. The Jive did not perform as per the expectation due to relatively lower market size, said Mr. HS Goindi, president marketing, TVS Motor in an interview with CNBC TV 18.
Hence it's a certain that by launching several models including Radeon, TVS will be eyeing to get back into its lost third spot in the Indian market.
