While most of the two wheeler manufacturers of the country are finding great success and increment in its sales, the Chennai based TVS motor company is finding their way a bit tough in the market. TVS will have to work hard to come alive from this pathetic situation.
TVS Motor Company has reported 3.02 per cent decline in its total vehicle sales in February at 1,72,061 units. According to reports, the company had sold 1,77,412 units in the same month last year. Two-wheeler sales of the company fell by 2.43 per cent last month to 1,68,996 units from 1,73,200 units in the year-ago period.
The company saw its scooter sales dipping by 9.03 per cent to 36,693 units in February from 40,335 units in the same month of 2011, while motorcycle sales went down by 11.81 per cent to 63,019 units from 71,462 units in the year-ago period. The company's domestic two-wheeler sales registered a marginal growth to 1,52,796 units as against 1,51,526 units in February 2011.
It was also reported that three-wheeler sales of the company went down by 27.23 per cent to 3,065 units from 4,212 units in the same month of 2011. The company's total exports decreased by 25.28 per cent to 17,960 units from 24,036 units in the same month previous year.
