Hero MotoCorp's Green Revolution: Zero Electric Motorcycles, Now Made in India

In a remarkable stride towards sustainable mobility, Hero MotoCorp, India's premier two-wheeler manufacturer, is primed to roll out Zero Electric Motorcycles in India. Forging an alliance with the U.S.-based electric motorcycle behemoth, Zero Motorcycles, Hero MotoCorp is set to undertake the local production of these environment-friendly two-wheelers. This unfolds after Hero MotoCorp's hefty investment of $60 million in Zero Motorcycles in 2022, heralding a future of greener, cleaner transport for India's burgeoning two-wheeler industry.



Hero-Zero alliance: A blend of electric innovation and indigenous manufacturing:
Hero MotoCorp had declared its partnership with Zero last year, intending to co-develop electric two-wheelers. This collaboration combines Zero's innovation in electric bike engineering and Hero's prowess in production, procurement, marketing, and distribution.

"As part of our green initiative, we are introducing the Zero portfolio in India, thereby providing Indian consumers with top-notch clean mobility options. Zero will also set up its manufacturing units in India," a snippet from Hero MotoCorp's annual report read.





Introducing the Zero Electric Motorcycle range:
Zero Motorcycles' lineup is rich with various models, including dual-sport bikes, naked bikes, adventure-tourer, and a fully-faired sport bike. Although these bikes are currently solely produced at Zero's Scotts Valley plant, the specific models to be introduced in India and their manufacturing hubs are yet to be announced.
