Kerala, Gods own country and with Cochin being a main business hub in the state. Cochin has attracted many international faces in to the place to launch their new products into the Indian market, specifically the southern market. As every month is eventful in Cochin, this time the city witnessed the 4th southern H.O.G rally take place and 1000 and still counting Harley Davidson’s boomed the city by their exhaust notes. A two day event and there were many programs that were strictly for Harley Davidson owners. They rumbled in to the city from all over India, with the Cochin Harley riders merging with them upon their entrance. A two day event, which unfortunately the public nor media persons were invited. Though some official spokespersons of the group updated the media with the ongoing events.
The two day event was filled with various contests and competitions, riders with their rugged jackets and boots were walking each with a high spirited smile on their faces. Out of the various competitions that took place some namely were Human Foosball, Burnout Battles, Arm Wrestling and so on. The riders that were majority from different states of the country had a tummy-full Kerala style Sadya and to some extent riders were spotted with the traditional dhoti(Mund). A major contest that is overlooked among the riders themselves was the H.O.G Custom Contest. This contest is divided in to a few sub-categories like best styled motorcycle, best customized motorcycle and a few more, which we are unaware of. The riders accommodated themselves in some of the Posh hotels in the city like the Prestigious Ramada Resort and Le Meridien. The event was held in Le Meridien, it was inaugurated with a set of artists playing the Chenda(Drums) and two Kathakali(Classical Indian Dance) artists performing to the rhythm.
The Big 5 Patch was also awarded to riders who have covered all the zonal rallies and the India H.O.G Rally in one year. The patches are a very respectable icon among the group. With many riders coming from places as far as Chandigarh, Kolkata, experiences to be shared are aplenty among the riders. As the number of riders increase every year, it is seen as a great sign to the group, to have some great experince to share among themselves.
