Ducati Superbike 1199 Panigale Wins Red Dot Award

Here comes the greatest news for all Ducati fanatics across the world that the Italian superbike manufacturer's, Superbike 1199 Panigale bagged the "best-of-the-best" Red Dot Award. The award was granted by a 37-experts team. The ultimate machine of Ducati swiped the reward competing to 4,662 products. The Red Dot Award is one of the biggest and most prestigious international design competitions in the world. The official award ceremony was held on 1st July, 2013, in Essen, Germany.



To ensure credibility and popularity, the Ducati 1199 Panigale will be displayed at the Red Dot Design Museum in Germany for one month, then at an exhibition in Taiwan, and for one year at the impressive Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore.



"The red dot ‘best of the best, award acknowledges all the hard work put in by everyone at Ducati R&D for over three years. Moreover, joining the ranks of the award,s top winners has made this product - and Ducati - part of product design history. Every single component has been designed to be performance-oriented and function-specific. Together, all these components form a harmonious, light, visually stunning product. Which is just how a Ducati should be," said Mr. Andrea Ferraresi, Ducati Design Centre Director.

Certainly the enthralling design is the hallmark of the 1199 Panigale. Having dual headlight, turn indicators on rear view mirrors, split seat, stylish and well placed exhaust, and 10 spoke alloy wheels paste a sporty feel to it.

"The winners of the red dot product design award 2013 are the protagonists of fast developments within the very culture of industrial design. The last few days have seen us engaged in the extremely difficult task of selecting the best, most deserving designs. Indeed, it is sometimes just a single detail that makes the difference when it comes to showing off a product,s special qualities. All these creations have been assessed and examined by the expert and critical eyes of an international red dot jury," commented Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot.

The 1199 Panigale is powered by a 1198cc,Superquadro: L-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine, which delivers maximum power of 143 kW (195 hp) @ 10,750 rpm and max torque of 132 Nm (98.1 lb-ft) @ 9,000 rpm. Its engine is mated with a 6 speed gear transmission.

Its is equipped with an electronic fuel injection system, which ensures better fuel injection to engine and thus better performance than ever. The exhaust 2-1-2 system with catalytic converter and 2 lambda probes sounds a throaty and sharp noise.

Uncompromising anything on its reliability and stability, the bike is crafted on Monocoque Aluminium frame. Marzocchi 50mm pressurized and fully adjustable usd fork with hard anodized aluminum lightweight slider front suspension and Fully adjustable unit. Adjustable linkage: Progressive/flat. Aluminum single-sided swingarm rear suspension jump comfort to the next level.
