World's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, reached the milestone of 2 lakh Maestro scooters in Indian streets. It was in New Delhi Auto Expo 2012, the Maestro was firstly unveiled. Then the scooter got launched across the country in April, 2012. As far as Hero MotoCorp is concerned, 2 lakh is not a great number to celebrate since the scooter was made available in Hero stores for 14 months. Still, the mileage given by the sales figure of Maestro is no smaller for Hero, as the Maestro is the first individual scooter of the firm.
While Hero introduced the Maestro there had been negative impact on its design as the scooter slightly resembled its rival and erst while partner Honda's Activa. Enduring the crises the Maestro courageously win the market bringing home a good percentage of Honda Activa and other leading scooters' stake.
The Maestro is powered by a 109cc, Air cooled, 4 - stroke single cylinder OHC, Self Start engine, which is very similar to that of Activa. Well, the Maestro's engine is smooth and very refined too.
It delivers maximum power of 8.2 Ps @ 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 9.10 N m @ 5500 rpm. This makes an easy throttling for the rider. It can climb even upto a top speed of 90 kmph. In short, it must be said that the Maestro's engine is better than the Activa. And its engine is coupled with automatic transmission too. The machine gives back an average mileage of 45 kmpl.
The scooter is crafted out of Under-bone Type frame, which makes the two-wheeler lighter and yet reliable. Being equipped with linked hydraulic dampers front suspension and monoshock rear suspension, the Maestro does provide a comfortable drive. Still, missing of telescopic suspension remains as a disappointment for scooter lovers.
Yup! It is coupled with Combines Braking System (CBS), which makes braking easier. Moreover, newly designed instrument panel with a mix up of digitalization helps the rider to know things at a glance. Having a 5.3 fuel tank, the scooter weighs only 110 kg. Above all, the bi-wheeler is stylish and pleasing to watch. Still, a bulgy appearance is felt in some angles. Except one more drawback, the Maestro is a very option to buy, that is the scooter could have carried a better quality plastic material. It seems that Hero has purposefully done it to decrease the price of the scooter.
Nevertheless, Hero hasn't officially announced anything on its upgrade. Still, it is expected to happen soon.
Maestro is one of the best scooters in India
