India Yamaha Motors opened their first account of 2013 with the new color schemes of the R15 version 2.0. The refreshed R15 is now available in four new stunning colors - Racing Blue, Thundering Green, Invincible Black and Raring Red. Though the bike got unveiled in new colors, Yamaha hasn't altered the specifications and features of it. The new motorcycles will be in the stores soon. India Yamaha hasn't officially stated on this other than the update on their official website.
With the arrival of 4 new colors, the coming days will witness some strong competition between Honda CBR 150R and Yamaha R15. Honda had launched the new colors of the CBR 150R last year.
The R15 is one of the most successful two wheelers of India Yamaha. When the R15 entered to the Indian market in 2008, it helped Indian media to fill up their columns quiet easily. The youngsters found the machine so admirably. That was a trend setter for a while.
Again in 2011, Yamaha did a major upgrade on the R15 and the R15 version 2.0 was born packed with tons of features and alterations. It added another wave to the Indian two wheeler industry. Yamaha recognized huge growth in the shade of the R15. The face lifted Yamaha R15 version 2.0 was ramped with an all new sporty split seat, LED tail lamp, an aluminium swingarm, all new twin 5 spoke alloy wheel, sporty exhaust, all black engine, new stunning graphics and wider rear wheel of 130mm (130/70-R17). While the other engine technical specifications and features remained unchanged.
The 2013 Yamaha R15 Version 2.0 comes with the same 149.8 cc, Liquid cooled, 4 stroke, SOHC, 4-valve engine. The machine generates a good measurement of 17 PS of power at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 15 Nm at 7500 rpm. Combined with a gear shift pattern of 1 Down -5 Up, the engine is mated with a 6 speed gearbox. With this most advanced technologies, the R15 reaches a top speed of 144 kmph. Couple of hydraulic single disc brakes at both ends add safety to the riders. In order to ensure a comfortable drive, Yamaha has installed telescopic suspension and linked type monocross suspension at front and rear respectively. Still the rear seat remains dangerous for pillion riders even though it is much sporty to be stared at. Moreover, Yamaha is yet to announce the upgraded price of the 2013 R15.
