Harley Davidson to Build a Special Baby Bike for India

American ultra premium cruiser motorcycle manufacturer, Harley Davidson will be unveiling a special motorcycle soon, aiming Indian customers. The bike will have its first appearance in the Motor Show 2014 at Greater Noida. Moreover, it will be the entry level motorcycle of Harley Davidson at launch.



"India is quiet different rather than any other two wheeler markets. Indian customers simultaneously care luxury, price and economy. So a reasonable bike which is more a luxurious stuff is a must in the Indian market to survive. And we realize the exact cruiser that lacks in the market and we are under hard experiments to result the best Harley Davidson machine ever" said a spokesperson of Harley Davidson India.



Leaks jot down that the baby Harley Davidson will be equipped with a 500cc V-Twin Evolution Air Cooled engine. It is expected to be produce a maximum power of 29 bhb @ 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 44 Nm @ 4200 rpm. The engine will be mated with a much simpler 5-speed gear transmission. The technical specifications show out that the baby HD is a bit more powerful than India's premium brand motorcycle, Royal Enfield's Thunderbird 500.



The motorcycle analysts predict that the entry Harley two wheeler is suppossed to be priced around Rs. 3.5 lakh. Then it would be a severe massacre for its major opponents, Hyosung ST7, Honda CBR 500R, Ninja 300 and even for Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500.
