Piaggio Group showcased Vespa Elettrica and Elettrica X at the 2017 EICMA
The iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer Piaggio has showcased something ravishing at the 75th EICMA festival in Milan. At the Piaggio's pavilion, they finally revealed the most awaited electric scooter of the year, 'Vespa Elettrica'. Last year, the brand has showcased a concept model, which is pretty close to a production based model. Interestingly, the model looks like the classic Vespa scooter with the iconic round headlamp and sexy curves on the body panels. There will be two models like Elettrica and Elettrica X, which going to contribute to the prevention of rising greenhouse gases and noise pollution. Moreover, it is also claimed to be a silent scooter for a stress-free environment.
According to the company officials, Vespa Elettrica is a contemporary work of art with a technological heart for the modern age needs. While retaining the iconic Vespa look, the power unit will continuously deliver a power of 2 kW and a maximum power of 4 kW. The scooter is claimed to have a maximum range of 100 km or 62 miles in a single charge and all it takes just 4 hours of charging. However, it is double the capacity in Elettrica X model courtesy of a power generator, which is coupled to the electric motor. Besides that, Elettrica features Vespa Multimedia Platform enabling multimedia system and smartphone connectivity which is displayed through a TFT liquid crystal display.
