Power under the hood
The new Multistrada V4 RS boasts the potent 1,103 Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine. Unlike other Multistradas, which are powered by the Granturismo engine, this one shares its heart with the Panigale and Streetfighter models. The engine cranks out an impressive 180 horsepower at 13,500 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 87 pound-feet at 9,500 rpm. Gear shifting is a breeze, thanks to its six-speed transmission and Ducati's up and down quickshifter. And for those fond of the distinct sound of Ducati’s dry clutches, the bike features an STM Evo-SBK dry clutch.
Ride and handling
When it comes to suspension, the Multistrada V4 RS is second to none. It comes equipped with a 48mm Öhlins fully adjustable front fork with titanium nitride treatment, and a rear Öhlins TTX36 monoshock that’s fully adjustable. The bike also features an aluminum single-sided swingarm. Braking is managed by Brembo Stylema monobloc four-piston calipers at the front and a two-piston Brembo caliper at the rear. Cornering ABS comes standard.
Weight and dimensions
The new Multistrada V4 RS has been designed to be the lightest Multistrada ever, weighing in at approximately 520-521 pounds. It has a 1,592mm wheelbase, a rake of 25.75 degrees, and a trail of 120mm. The seat height is adjustable, ranging from 33.1 to 33.9 inches.
Special add-ons and ergonomics
The bike is adorned with a carbon fiber front mudguard, specially designed hand guards, heat shields, and a front beak. A titanium subframe and a new compact battery contribute to its weight reduction. Ergonomically, the foot pegs are positioned to offer a sportier riding stance, and the handlebar is affixed directly to the top triple clamp.
Electronic suite
A 6.5-inch TFT display serves as the dashboard. It features four power modes along with other electronic aids like traction control, wheelie control, and engine brake control. The bike also introduces a Full Power Mode, a first in the Multistrada lineup.
Availability and price
The Multistrada V4 RS is adorned in a new Iceberg White livery and is priced at $37,995 in the US and $41,995 in Canada. For other regions, local authorized Ducati dealers will have the most accurate information.
Conclusion
With the 2024 Multistrada V4 RS, Ducati has set a new benchmark in the sport-touring segment. It's not just a motorcycle; it's a statement from Ducati, reflecting their commitment to innovation, performance, and luxury.
