The Yamaha R3 is powered by 321cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC in-line 2 cylinder engine delivering a maximum power of 41.5 Bhp and peak torque of 30 Nm. The engine gets a 6-speed gearbox to transmit power to the rear wheels. It features 41 mm KYB telescopic forks upfront and KYB single shock with adjustable preload at the rear. A 298 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear provide enough stopping power to this machine, while ABS is an optional feature.

Currently, YZF-R3 is not available in India due to the strict BS4 emission norms. Therefore, the company will launch this model soon or later to challenge the markets of Ninja 300, KTM RC 390 and the newly launched Benelli 302R.
