Two-Stroke bikes are often referred to as “the choice of real men”. Unlike 4-stroke motorcycles, these can generate high amount of torque, which enables quick and responsive pick-up. That is why these range of bikes are widely used in motocross and other off-road racing competitions. In the market there are various brands of two-stroke production bikes, specially produced for the motocross, adventure and off-road activities. And for the first time, the ace Austrian based bike manufacturer KTM unveiled their first series production two-stroke bikes with a fuel injection system. The 2018 KTM 250 EXC TPI and 300 EXC TPI are those two epic bikes to feature this advanced fuel injection system for a 2-stroke engine.
Both these bikes will come under the famous Enduro series of KTM. The two-stroke fuel injected engines are featured in 250 and 300cc variants only. And both the bikes are meant for European market and company is yet to make their statements regarding their North and South American sales.
The bike features Transfer Port Injection technology (TPI), which uses two fuel injectors in the same engine port, which prevents the pre-mixing of fuel and air with the oil. The advanced engine management system controls the working of injectors. This has improved the fuel efficiency of the bikes by reducing the consumption of oil by 50%. This Enduro models also features WP suspension system, spoke-wheels, off-road tyres, hydraulic clutch and Brembo disc brakes at both the ends. Both these bikes are constructed based on the Chromium-Molybdenum steel double cradle frame.
This off-road motorcycles will enter the European market by June 2017
