Italian superbike manufacturer, Ducati, unveiled its much awaited mid-sized motorcycle, the 899 Panigale, at the 2014 Frankfurt Motor Show ahead of the IAA International Motor Show. The bike which got tagged the name 'Supermid' will be available two colors- white, and red. The white one is the expensive, which costs $15,295, while the red machine is priced $14,995.
The 899 Panigale will replace the 848 range superbikes of the firm. Of course, tt is a direct clobber for MV Agusta F3 800.
The bike is powered by a newly developed 898cc, Superquadro: L-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine, that delivers a whooping power of 148 hp @ 10.750 rpm and a tremendous torque of 99 Nm @ 9.000 rpm. It's coupled with a 6 speed transmission.
What makes it a quiet brilliant stuff in the class is its Monocoque aluminum frame, which ensures maximum stability at high speeds and a great appearance. As fully adjustable BPF Showa forks 43 mm chromed inner tubes take care the front, fully adjustable Sachs unit, Aluminum double-sided swingarm does the rear suspension.
The dual emi-floating discs at front and a single disc brake at rear enriches the level of barking system. Further, ABS technology is coupled with it.
