Suzuki started manufacturing V Storm 1000 in Japan from 2002. the “V” refers to the bike's engine configuration. But Suzuki launched this motorcycle in the European market only by 2009. The Auto Expo 2014 witnessed the unveiling of latest Suzuki V-Storm in India.
V-Storm 1000 draws power from a 1037cc, 90 degree V-twin, four stroke, liquid cooled engine covered by a sporty aluminium frame. It has a six speed manual transmission box. This multi-purpose adventure tourer is capable for long distance tours, congested streets, gravel roads, high-speed highways and twisty winding roads. This fantastic engine produces a maximum torque of 103Nm @ 4000 rpm which is much lower than its competitors and provides a more relaxed and enjoyable riding experience. The power output of this bike is 99.2bhp @ 8000 rpm.
An adjustable windscreen is one of the distinctive feature of V-Storm from other adventure tourers. It can reduce aerodynamic drag of the vehicle. Instrument cluster consists of analogue tachometer and brightness adjustable LCD speedometer. The LCD displays odometer, dual trip meter, gear position, coolant and ambient temperature, the voltage, riding range, average fuel consumption, traction control mode and a clock.
Suzuki has developed an integrated luggage system for V-Storm 1000, in which you can attach and remove the genuine Suzuki accessory side cases without any tools. The side and top cases can hold plenty of gear. The cases can be locked and unlocked using ignition key.
Suspension system consists of inverted telescopic front forks and rear monoshock and dual brakes at the front. ABS system comes as a standard feature. V-Storm is available in Candy Daring Red and Pearl Glacier White.

V-Strom 1000 is an ultimate adventure bike designed for unforgettable sport-adventure riding. The V-Strom 1000 is also equipped with traction control to make it a very versatile bike. The fuel injection engine gives out a maximum power of 99.2 bhp @ 8000 rpm and a maximum peak torque of 103.0Nm at 4,000rpm. The full-length torque hits at low RPMs and this makes this adventure bike to scale mountains, hilly roads with maximum agility and riding dynamics. The engine is tuned to give formidable power and torque even at low speeds and this will give an advantage to the riders who do long-distance tours, on congested streets, gravel roads, high-speed highways and twisty winding roads.
The performance of this adventure bike is matched by a very lightweight twin-spar aluminium frame which was designed with the latest FEM analysis technology. It is stiffer and is 13% lighter than that the previous generation V-Strom 1000chassis. The new frame gives the V-Strom 1000 maximum riding dynamics and capacity.
The suspension setup is done with Inverted Telescopic, Coil Spring, Oil Damped at the front while the rear suspension comes with a Link Type, Coil Spring, Oil Damped to provides remarkably crisp handling even on the tightest back road. Suzuki has given Twin Disc brakes at the front with ABS technology. While the rear brakes are done with Disc with ABS. Suzuki has given a ground clearance of 165mm for the V-Strom along with a seat height of 850mm. The curb mass of this adventure bike comes at 228kg.
