Fantabulus was launched in the early 1940s when Enfield decided to go on the Lambretta and Vespa market. However, this model was launched in India in 1962. This scooter was powered by 175cc Villiers engine delivering a maximum power of 7.4 bhp. It has recorded top speed of over 96.5 kmph. From 1968, the body of Fantabulus was manufactured in the Madras factory and Villiers MarkII engine was assembled at the UK factory. The name Fantabulus was originally adopted from the scooter's 'Fantastic performance and Fabulous pricing'.
