KMs Run
Royal Enfield is considered as one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers who had built bikes from 1901. This model was launched in 1957 to become the first superbike of the Royal Enfield family. This 700cc, twin cylinder engine is best known to offer high performance at the most affordable cost. The engine delivers an impressive 50 bhp @ 6250 rpm and raised a tight competition to the likes of Triumph and BSA. However, the bike wasn't reliable and faced many problems during its run. It was one of the fastest bikes of that time and very good acceleration. The bike was never popular and Enfield readily upgraded the model to 750cc Interceptor.
Before entering the Britain, the model was launched in the USA. Later, it was upgraded to Interceptor featuring 750cc engine and continued to produce till 1970. The Interceptor was powered by 692cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine with twin carburettors mated with 4-speed constant mesh gearbox. The bike had a top speed of 185 kmph and it was equipped with a dual front brake and 7-inch rear brake.
