Hero Honda Joy was introduced in 2001 aiming the mass entry level commuter segment. The Joy was one of the cheapest motorcycles from Hero Honda. However, the company discontinued the production of the Joy and succeeded the position by the current cheapest models of Hero, the HF Dawan and the HF Deluxe. The Joy was coupled with a 97.2cc, Four-stroke, air cooled engine. The bike produced maximum power of 7.8 bhp @ 8000 rpm and maximum torque of 8 Nm @ 5000 rpm. Its engine was mated with a 4 speed gear transmission. The two-wheeler was only offered with kick-start.
