First Impression Review
After the success of the Pulsar clans, Bajaj has launched a small version of the Pulsar with a relatively small and fuel efficient engine to attract the city dwellers as well as casual commuters. The Pulsar 135LS, which got launched back in India in 2009 came with a very light weight design and style, and showcased a stripped and the thin version in the entire Pulsar series.
Engine
The Pulsar 135 comes with a 4-stroke, DTS-i, air cooled, 4-valve single cylinder engine. The motorcycle produces max power of 13.5 Ps @ 9000 rpm and max torque of 11.4 Nm @ 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed gearbox. The engine comes with 4 -valves and uses Bajaj’s DTS-i technology. The 135cc engine is very fuel efficient and also gives enough power and torque to meet all the daily requirements.
The Pulsar 135 may have a relatively small engine, but it still retains the sportiness and responsiveness of the Pulsar series. The engine is clearly made to give out a smooth commuting experience yet it still have some fight inside to take a twist around the highways to make the Adrenalin pumping.
Chassis, Suspension & Braking
The Pulsar 135LS comes with Telescopic suspension with anti-friction bush at the front suspension and 5 way adjustable, Nitrox shock absorber at the rear. The suspension setup is made to make occasional highway rides and city rides pleasurable. The bike comes with a very lightweight of 122 kg. The bikes have a 240 mm disc brakes at the front and a 130 mm Drum brakes at the rear. Bajaj claims a top speed of 115 kmph.
Conclusion
The Pulsar 135 is a very lightweight commuter that could be used to commute highways and heavy traffic very easily with good fuel efficiency. Bajaj has stripped down the weight of the bike and is very light in weight. This makes it very easy to move swiftly in hefty traffic and congested roads very easily.
