First Impression Review
Bajaj Platina Comfortec is an upgraded version of the popular two-wheeler Platina. Bajaj has done a good job at making this affordable two-wheeler by making this motorcycle. The Indian roads are always filled with potholes and gutters, the uneven roads and potholes cause accidents and discomfort to vehicles and bike riders. Bajaj has given traditional kick start as well as electric start with this motorcycle.
Engine
The Bajaj Platina comes with a 102 cc Single cyl, 2-valve, DTS-I with ExhausTEC. The engine has the capacity to produce a maximum power of 8.34 Nm @ 5500 RPM and a maximum peak torque of 8.34 Nm @ 5500 RPM. Bajaj has mated the engine to a 4-speed gearbox. The engine is very refined and gives good mileage. The power delivery of the bike is good enough for commuting needs.
Frame, Suspension & Chassis
One of the main advantages of the new Platina is the new Tubular, Semi-double cradle chassis. The new chassis makes sure that the bike is very stable and has fewer vibrations on top speeds. Bajaj has worked very well with the suspension setup of this bike to give double springs rather than single springs seen on other 100cc bikes. The suspension setup comes with Telescopic fork type having 135 mm travel on the front section and a Spring in Spring type having 110 mm travel in the rear suspension. The braking system of the bike comes with 130 Drum braking system at the front and a 110 Drum at the rear. The overall weight of the bike comes around 111 kg.
Final Words
The Bajaj Platina Comfortec is a good motorcycle that packs a very fuel efficient engine and ensures good comfort. The suspension setup of this bike is made to be very comfortable for daily commutes and rides. The new Platina attracts less maintenance cost and remains as one of the best value for money bikes in India.
