I don't think the RE Thunderbird could be compared with this bike. The Thunderbird 350 produces 19.8 bhp @ 5250 rpm while the Commando produces 24.8 hp @ 8500 rpm. This may look like a win for the Command in the paper for a noobie. But when we look closely the 24.8 hp arrives at 8500 rpm which is very long and takes so much time to achieve as its torque of 21.8 Nm comes at 7000 rpm. While the Thunderbird only has a 19.8 bhp but it comes very fast at 5250 rpm and balanced with a 24.8 hp at 8500 rpm. The Thunderbird sits on a big 350 CC engine making it ideal for long rides with less heat generation while the Commando sits on a comparatively small 280.00 cc engine which could generate much heat. Moreover, Thunderbird has a good ground clearance making it a good adventure bike as well as a highway cruiser. But the Commando on the other side falls short behind all these.
