The SZ-R has a 153 cc engine borrowed from the FZ16 but it is tuned to develop 2 bhp less power than teh FZ16, so the engine is less stressed and therefore will last longer. It has sufficient torque for city riding. However, highway riding would not be very enjoyable because of lack of power. It is a very comfortable motorcycle both in city and on highways because of its suspension and seating geometry. between Shine and SZR, well, it al ldepend on what you want from your bike. If you want more fuel efficiency, go for the Shine and if you want more power, go for the SZR. Shine will be better and easier to ride in the city while SZR would be slightly better on the highways. Test ride both of them and find out which one suits you better.Good that you dont want to go for Bajaj/TVS, however, TVS bikes are better than Bajaj bikes in terms of quality and longevity. Do take a test ride of the Apache RTR 160 and 180 before you make your final decision. These two bikes have much better power and almost similar fuel efficiency as the Shine/SZR and are tremendous fun to ride.

Hi, its better to go for the stylish reliable Yamaha SZ-X. Both Yamaha SZ-X and SZ-R has the same reliable 153 cc, Air cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-Valve, Single cylinder, CDi engine with 12.1 hp @ 7500 rpm of power and has 12.8 Nm @ 4500 rpm of torque. The Yamaha SZ-X and SZ-R gives mileage of around 52 to 60 kmpl depending upon the riding style and conditions and has good comfort in riding and handling. The main difference between the two models are Yamaha SZ-R is having electric start only where as Yamaha SZ-X is having both electric and kick start option and costs 3000 rs less than the Yamaha SZ-R.
Honda Shine is a stylish reliable 125 cc bike. The bike has reliable 124.7cc, Air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder, digital CDi engine with 10.3 hp @ 7500 rpm of power and has 11 Nm @ 5500 rpm of torque. The bike has mileage of around 58 to 65 kmpl depending upon the riding conditions and style. But Shine lacks power, pick up, speed and has only 4-speed gears and is mainly meant for city use and has less comfort in riding and handling than SZ-X. So without any doubt go for the Yamaha SZ-X at any cost.
