From the clan of the RX100 and the RD350, a similar bike is all set to dominate the Indian bike industry. If rumors are to be believed, Yamaha may launch the 37 year old vintage edition of the SR400 in India.
For any retro bike enthusiast, kick starting the Yamaha SR400 would be a memorable experience. Powered by a 390cc, air-cooled, two-valve, single cylinder, SOHC engine which generates 23bhp of horsepower at 6500 rpm and a torque of 27.4 Nm at 3000rpm, this bike has remained the same all through the years.
The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a multi plate clutch system. The motto-rad is expected to have hydraulic 268mm disc brakes for the front and 150 mm drum brakes for the rear side which makes the braking system strong and effective.
Small and compact, the SR400 is a claimed 175kg bike that is always ready for a ride. A 30.9 inch seat height and exceptional narrowness makes the bike very easy to handle. It is expected to have an extended wheelbase of 1409mm which would guarantee a flawless riding experience. It is also featured with a 12.10L fuel tank capacity which doesn't disappoint you on long rides. It is expected to be the most fuel efficient motorcycle.
The single headlight of SR400 allows you to get a clear view of the roads at night. However, the motorcycle has no expected storage space. It comes in the same single colour option- Liquid Graphite. The expected price of SR400 in India may be close to Rs. 3.8 lakhs.
Hopefully, enough is saved for it.
