The darkest side of Yamaha. Nothing con come even closer to it. The machine is specially crafted to explore the beauty of night through streets, highways, cities, or wherever the rider wants. Coupled with a 847cc, 3-Cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valves engine, the bike is able to burn out a max power of 84.6 kW (115PS) @ 10,000 rpm and a max torque of 87.5 Nm (8.9 kg-m) @ 8,500 rpm. It is coupled with a 6 speed transmission.
The MT-09 is one of the most monstrous looking motorcycles from Yamaha. It is very light, slim and compact. The low weight, excellent rigidity, and excellent dynamic balance make this bike a very agile performer at all times.Yamaha had followed a very minimalistic styling to this motorcycle. The console and aggressive twin-eye headlamp of the bike are made a very much closer, the turn signals have been repositioned lower beside the radiator to give a very modern and monstrous look. The design cues of the MT-09 is clearly inspired by its elder brother MT10.
The Yamaha has given new side-fins to the MT-09 which are fitted to the radiator and together with large air scoops mounted on the big fuel tank to increase the aesthetical appearance and brutal visual stance.
The MT-09 is powered by an 847 cc 3-Cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valves engine that has the capacity to produce a maximum power of 115PS @ 10,000 rpm and an 87.5 Nm peak torque @ 8,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a Constant Mesh, 6-speed gearbox. The Fuel Injection is incorporated into the engine and Chain is used as its final transmission system.
Yamaha has given a Diamond chassis to this motorcycle. The bike uses Telescopic forks as its front suspension while the Swingarm, (Link-type suspension) is used as its rear suspension. The front braking system of the bike is done with Hydraulic dual disc, Ø 298 mm at the front while the rear suspension setup comes with Hydraulic single disc, Ø 245 mm. The Minimum ground clearance of the MT-09 is 135 mm. The Fuel tank capacity of the bike is 14 L. The wet weight of the MT-09 (including full oil and fuel tank) 193 kg.
